Just trying to find an elegant workflow.

Unmanaged Libraries with external Media folders.

I have 2 identical sets of media on 2 external drives, one at home, other at TV station. I work at TV station and produce Projects, Compounds, etc. Moving whole "Lean Library" back and forth not an option, as there are 6113 files and path difference produces hefty re-link times. So I use a transfer Library with single Event containing Projects etc. Fine so far.

But at TV station, I have imported Music and added Voice Over. Consolidating a Project to Transfer Library's external folder would mean all files in that Project would be copied, not just additional ones.

I could see that every time new Media is added at either end a new Event could be created and that could be consolidated, but this seems a bit clunky. I really want to only Consolidate media added after a certain date. Happy to sift for those, but can they only be Consolidated as part of an Event action?

Put the files in the media folder and import from there using leave in place.

Hi Tom so I think your saying grab all files generated that day and copy to portable drive. When I get home pop them into the media folder on Home computer drive, then import, and when I then drag in any newly created Project or Compound everything will be online

That should do. Just make sure you use leave in place.
