Dear Fcpx
I used to believe that no matter the platform, storytelling was storytelling and I'm here to say I no longer think that's true. I was lured, by clever marketing and a wealth of features I'll probably never use, to a different NLE. There are features of yours I took for granted and I wanted to let you know.
You do have a fully featured professional workflow despite some naysayers. And I would argue after spending a week with the other guy that you are far more professional. I never have to worry about whether proxy merged clips will relinking to the original media. My clips can each have their own markers and metadata that gets transferred over via excellent aaf and edl tools. And don't get me started on your excellent audio tools. Keeping a neat and organized timeline is easy. Keeping all tracks of audio from set in a single clip is simple. Other tools just can't compete with the hours you save me every day.
I also missed your ability to have fast start encoding and your excellent media management tools that actually gather the media without crashing.
Oh and the stability! My last week with the other NLE feels like I went back to the 90's with crashes and restarts several times a day.
While you are not perfect, I have learned that simplicity means power and elegance means speed. And speed means I spend less time figuring out how to do what I want to do and organizing the project and more time being creative and telling a story. I love you FCPX and will never think of abandoning you again.

Haha, I also forgot what it was like to do a bunch of work, have the program lock up, and lose everything. Oh boy.

As somebody who recently cheated on FCPX with ...another big named editor... I sure missed all the built in Titles, cool transitions and generators that just come included with FCPX. And that magnetic timeline.... ooh baby. You do me right.
Needless to say, I'm back where I belong. Sorry I ever doubted you.
