BTT better touchtool question

BTT better touchtool question was created by dkag7
Does anyone know if it is possible to create a gesture that holds a key pressed?
For example, in FCP you can hold the option key down, then drag a clip to another spot on the timeline to copy it there.
Is there a way to do this with only the trackpad & BTT (without having to keep the option key pressed on the keyboard?)
Thanks

Hey Kurt,
Not sure if this is what you mean, but under BTT preferences>Gestures>Trackpads>Predefined Actions>Mouse Click Actions… you can set option + click with a gesture shortcut.
Not sure that is what you want as it is only option+click, not hold down. AFAIK BTT does not allow you to program it, you can only use predefined gestures/actions. Hold down key is a requested action as well as a programming macro capability, so send in a request.
There may be a different way built into MacOS Accessibility Preferences. Go to Accessibility Preferences>Enable Sticky Keys. You still have to press the Option Key on the Keyboard, but it will remain held down while you do one action, like dragging with out holding, but then it resets after an action. At least this gives you some extra help.
Hope this helps, Greg
