yesterday i tried something really simple: animating a parameter of the color-correction - for instance brightness
it doesn't seem to be supported ... or am i overseeing something obvious?
If not - how would you do something simple as animating the brightness of a clip?
I overlayed it with the same clip in add-mode and faded this clip in/out - but that's not really nice to use

Yep, you just found one of FCPX's biggest flaws, CC is not keyframeable yet. The workaround is indeed to blend the clips. Sad, isn't it?

yes truly sad. Hard to believe that this isn't implemented.

Are there any affordable plugins that have this function?

I agree that Color Finale is extraordinary; but not yet keyframeable.

Right, only the mix is keyframable. I'm sure we'll see keyframe in there soon.

HyColour PRO - works great, all controls are keyframable, $45. There's even a non-pro version that might do all you need for only $25.
