Date content created on gopro footage

I have gopro videos imported into fcpx using the following workflow:
1. Import the mp4 video files from the camera to my harddisk using gopro studio importer tool;
2. Convert the mp4 video files with option remove fisheye checked, to mov format using gopro studio;
3. Import the mov formatted video files into fcpx, and copy them into newly a created event.

The original video files in step 1 have a proper modified date, which is the same timestamp when the video was taken. However the converted video files in step 2 have the modified date, when de video was converted. Then when I import the footage into fcpx in step 3, the program uses the modified date from step 2 and not the original from step 1.

From within the fcpx program I want to use the original timestamp when the content was created, so I can better manage the events in the library like sorting by dates etc.

How do I change my workflow to make use of the original timestamp when the content was created?

It would make sense that FCPX would use the modified converted date since that is what is tagged to the clip you are importing. There is an option in FCPX to change the dates associated with clips but you'll have to look through the menus for it (I am not at my computer now and don't recall offhand). You might also check to see if GoPro Studio offers an option to preserve the original date when exporting modified files.

Select a clip in the Browser.
Go to the Modified menu, to "Adjust Content Created Date and Time..."

Did check at gopro support to see if there's an option for this, but there isn't and they gave me link above.

Adjusting many clips does have impact on your valuable free time, so this would be a nice software feature;)
