Keyboard editing

I keep having discussions with Avid editors who keep on insisting that FCPX simply cannot edit as effectively as Avid using only (or mostly) the keyboard. For some reason this seems to be a very big deal with a lot of these editors.
Would someone here be willing to make and post a video of you working using only or mostly the keyboard?
I myself love using my mouse and trackpad so I'm not the right person to demonstrate this but I figured someone here is a fast keyboard FCPX editor.

You will never convince them because they are wholly fixated on dynamic trimming and being able to perform edits in realtime playback. This is the holy grail for them. You will never convince them that any other way has any benefit. No matter what you say about the ability to edit using solely the keyboard, which you can do in FCP, they will always circle back to dynamic trimming.

Yep, once someone is an evangelist for their application, you won't change their mind about anything. So don't even try.

It is faster to edit from the keyboard than with a mouse or trackpad. And FCPX can do this. Good idea for a tutorial. I'll have to post one this week.

When I watched it the first time, I thought something is missing, and it is the box in box of the keyboard, Steve does a great job of voicing the missing video, but how hard could it have been to have used an iphone to record the keyboard and fingers, then used Multi-cam to edit the 2 clips showing Sam using the keyboard...

Interesting you say that... before the release of Final Cut Pro X I attended a Avid demonstration at the IBC and it seemed more limited vs to Final Cut Pro X. Know this was the year Final Cut Pro X was release things my have changed...
