recovering old event

Hi everyone, i'm in need of some help and hope someone can help me with my issue.
I was editing a project that was delivered and deleted. Months later I found out that bluray created was accidentally made PAL. Mistake on my part but it happens. Unfortunately FCPX backup only save for less than a month. I recovered the event using data recovery software. I found the "CurrentVersion.fcpevent" and have all the original files backed up so relining should be fine, no?
Since this project I have also updated to 10.2. I opened the projects from the finder and dragged over this even in hopes that FCPX would recognize and update the event. No luck what so ever. Any ideas?

Right-click the .fcpevent file, select Open With > Other, then select FCPX, see what it does.
