Relinking generator

Hi guys

I am finishing a project started by another editor. The project uses some custom generators.

I have copied those generators in a folder in my Motion Templates folder, unfortunately FCPX still sees them offline.

I also see no option to reconnect them.

I have read somewhere that they should be in the same exact folder than on the computer of the former editor. I'm not too eager to do this, as our Motion Template folder is organized differently. (And if it is the case, I don't find it a very good design).

Is there a workaround ?

Try making a folder named exactly as his and put just this generator in it.

I agree manoucho. I think if the generators, effects etc are on your system, even if they have moved to a different folder, you should be able to re-link to them. I have suggested it through the feedback page and suggest everyone else does the same. Feedback is monitored by Apple and I have had replies to some of my feedback directly from the FCP team so it's worth doing.
