FCPX hates importing 1080 files from Panasonic cameras

I am trying to import footage shot with a Panasonic HMC-150P video camera (AVCHD). FCPX will not allow me to transfer into app 1080 footage but I just did a test with 720 and it worked fine. Can anyone explain to me what is happening. I hate the thought of having to start over using my Avid Media Composer. I have been enjoying FCPX so much now I run into this problem. I am just noticing this because all of the footage I normally edit has been with the Panasonic lumix DSLR (GH3 & GF6) cameras which imports fine.

I shoot mostly in 1080 and this camera is used in multi cam shoots only. I would hate to abandon this app because of something like this. Any suggestions? Please help.

Will not allow you how? There is currently a problem in 10.2 with Panasonic media that's 25p and 30p appearing as black. There is an Apple support document suggesting converting the media to ProRes.

The same problem has been reported with Lumix cameras shooting QuickTime in 50p.

Thanks very much. I have not been online because I was trying to figure this out; when I did you and another fried provided me with the solution. Thanks a lot. Frustrating but this Avid editor still like FCPX.
