I wonder if someone has a problem with plugins from this company and FCPX 10.2. In my case the transition effect XEffect 3D is completely corrupt. I have written to the company and not got any answer.

I just recently experienced some trouble using their Tech Transitions. They worked fine on movie clips but not on text - funny enough not even after exporting the text as a movie clip and then re-importing it. I deleted render files and all that but to no success.
Did not try to contact anyone, though - just used a different transition, life had to go on.

I got this from FX Factory
What versions do you have installed?
Final Cut Pro 10.2 shipped with a problem whereby many effects and transitions do not animate correctly when used on secondary storylines.
Apple has been notified of this issue within hours of the release of Final Cut Pro 10.2. We hope it will be fixed soon, in the first free update to Final Cut Pro 10.2. Unfortunately Apple does not discuss their release plans publicly, so we do not know when the issue will be solved in their code.
We are also looking for a solution that we can implement on our side. If we find one, we will immediately post a free update to FxFactory.
One workaround that seems to work is creating a compound clip. Please let me know if this solves your problem.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance, if indeed this was helpful, or if this raises any other questions.
Regards,
Niclas

I keep use of 3rd party plugins to a bare minimum with FCPX, doesn't matter whose fault it is...but stuff breaks every release.

I use Hawaiki AutoSplit from FX Factory. Making a clip a compound and then applying the effect to the compound clip is a workaround to correct the effects transitions not starting off-screen. Maybe it will work for others.
