trying to import 10.0 project into 10.1.4...

Hi guys.
I'm having real trouble opening my project made in version 10.0 into 10.1.4 and co es up with either a blanked out file I can't open or an error saying final cut cannot open files in the "final cut pro event" format.
Any ideas at all? I'm stumped....

You need to update from within the Final Cut UI. And the old projects and events need to be where 10.1.4 expects them to be - in folders named Final Cut Projects and Final Cut Events – both located either in your Home Movies folder or at the Root level of a non start-u volume. If they are in one of those locations, you should be able to update from the File menu.

From 10.0.0 to 10.2.0? That's a super long way to go! I'm not sure you can. Maybe an XML export, maybe? That's a super mega huge jump in versions.

I did look to see whether I had any non updated projects/events from any time close to the first year of FCP X versions. The earliest I have on my connected storage is post 10.0.6. So I can't say for sure…but give it a try.And let us know what happens.
