download problems was created by robertellx
I am using FCP 10.0.8 on a mac. A recent problem I have been having is relative to downloading my file onto my drive or burning disks from FCP.
I have attempted to share master file by downloading to my desktop. When I play it back the file is in slow motion. I attempted to do it by sharing to DVD and that worked. Any idea why I might be having this problem and what I might do about it?

Does the video playback at the correct speed in your timeline? What settings are you using when sharing the file?

Thanks fir your response.
The video and audio play in the timeline. The problem is when I download. First I''ve tried share/master file. It asks me for information and starts to download but, looking in background tasks, the bar goes to approx. 45% and then closes.
Then I have tried share DVD and, looking in background tasks, the bar goes to approx. 45% and then closes. The disk burns but it is in slow motion. In any case the audio file, which I checked and which is ok drops out after about 15 seconds.

You could possibly have a corrupt render file. I don't recall exactly if they can be deleted within FCPX on version 10.0.8, but you can always manually delete them by trashing the render folder within the project. You might also consider updating FCPX to 10.0.9 if you cannot update to the latest version. That may improve any bugs that may have existed with DVD sharing.
So, to summarize:
1. Delete the render files. reboot. Try to export to DVD again.
2. If that fails - delete the FCPX preferences. Shut down the computer and wait 2-3 minutes. Power up, run FCPX and reset your preferences and try your export. On 10.0.8 or 10.0.9 you'll have to use the free program "Prefs Manager" by Digital rebellion to safely remove preference files. You can also do this manually but Prefs Manager is much simpler.
I wouldn't be concerned about the render wheel just showing up to 45% if it then completes and shows 100%. Sometimes the latter part of the cycle seems almost instant and it goes from some percentage immediately to 100%. If it hangs at 45% and doesn't move, then there is likely a problem with a clip or render file in the project.
Let us know how you make out, and also what version of OSX you have, ram, type of Mac, etc.
