Has anyone read this article? I read his original article in his last weekly newsletter and I found it compelling.

I can see his point of view.

I also find it interesting to watch as Adobe tries to adopt inspector like color grading and as FCPX tries to do things to make itself behave like it's predecessors.

the benefits gained hugely outweigh some perceived notion of diminished importance. Frankly I don't find Premiere's UI putting any more emphasis on color correction than the FCP UI. Perhaps Patruck doesn't remember where the 3-way CC was buried in legacy FCP. Not sure where he acquired this "fact" that only a small percentage of users work with keyboard shortcuts.

He claims the color correction effect is hard to fine. Let's see, in the Effects browser, in the COLOR collection, yeah, very difficult. Or maybe he doesn't know FCPX well enough, to know there is a SEARCH FIELD a the bottom you can type "color correction" in to. And what Tom said, he is very mistaken that most users don't use keyboard shortcuts.

He is very slanted in that article, not fact based at all. He's a nice guy, but he has some bee in his bonnet, seems to fear real change, and places his own personal feelings above others.

I played with the new PPro update during NAB. Was not impressed at all. Lots of hype, very little realistic "improvement" when it comes to actual use on a job.
