I cut some raw red footage in FCPX, I'm new to X and thought I'd just poke around and ended up really loving the work. Now I'm stuck with a final product, that isn't transcoded. I tried to export the footage and the clip flickered, stuttered, and where there was black before there is blue grain. Anyway I can save my day of work?

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum.

This sounds like a graphics card issue.

What flavor of raw RED are you using?
And wat are the specs of your editing system? (computer, amount of RAM, OS version, FCP X version)?

I'm on FCP 10.0.6 but I have Redcine Workflow installed. I've got a MBPr, 8 gigs of RAM OSX 10.9

I'm not sure what you mean as to flavor? Raw 4k.

I agree that it seems graphic card related, but just an advice:
with .r3d files is always better to render without doing anything else. In my experience (fcpx 10.1.4 and footage from a RED Epic) stopping and resuming background render often results in random black randered frames.
So, when i get this bugged frames I delete the generated files and do a clean render without touching the mouse (you konw that a simple skim stops every background task).

I hope that tha latest version of fcpx and red apple workflow plugin fix this issues... i'll do some tests
