Keyframing is still broken in 10.2

Keyframing is still broken in 10.2. Sometimes when I press a keyframe in the inspector, the playhead will jump back or forth a random amount of frames and put the keyframe there instead. I wish they'd fix this. It's an embarrassing issue for FCPX to have.

There also is no way to have curves/ramps on any given keyframe. Don't tell me to go to Motion because I do these kinds of things A LOT and I'd have to edit the entire project in Motion. FCPX needs to step up to the plate on this issue.

They seem to be intent on adding new features instead of fixing existing bugs. I'd rather have working keyframes than 3D text (which will scream "Edited with FCPX" because everyone will use it... just like iMovie transitions).

Hi Redifer,
I haven't installed it yet...
Is your editing performance any better in 10.2?
Trim/copy, paste/ etc.. delays/beach balls..
can you edit for more than 30 minutes without having to restart fcp?

thanks
Kurt

I haven't run into any of the usual slowdown issues but I've only been using it for a bit. The timeline responsiveness seems good so far. Some filters, like Magic Bullet Mojo, still bring everything to a crawl, though. But I'm thinking that's the fault of the plug-in.

I'm not seeing that behavior. More details?

Redifer, I experience the same problems every now and then. It does not happen with every clip but sometimes it just does - when I try to keyframe position or scale the keyframe will be positioned a bit off. Mostly outside the clip when I try to put it on the first frame. And yes, it sucks.

A workaround for me is to put that clip into its own compound clip. No idea why, but the compounds never make any trouble.

That has been done many times. It's not at all a new bug but has been around for years. I can not remember when it started, it was very long ago. And it's been discussed on this forum before. Sometimes they just don't listen, I guess.
