Hi,
wanted to update FCPX, found out I need Yosemite to install.
But there is this WiFi issue with Yosemite. Is the FCPX update important enough to
update from Maverick to Yosemite?
Can anyone shine a light on this issue?
Thanks
André

In the article it is said that " large numbers of messages from users who say their WiFi connections haven't worked
reliably since they upgraded to Yosemite"
Updating to 10.2.2 should improve WiFi reliability, but has it?

The article is referring to a problem for some users from two versions earlier of the OS. The problem was in 10.10.1. We're in 10.10.3.

From the article i understood that with 10.10.2 the issue still wasn't solved.
Thanks Tom for making it clear that with 10.10.3 it has.

For what it's worth, I haven't seen any wifi issues on my MacBook Pro retina in any version of Yosemite...

The official release has fixed a lot of issues with WiFi. Would be surprised if there were any left :) Everything working fine here.

Hi AV
Many users reported problems with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with Yosemite. I also haven't updated to Yosemite because I'm in the middle of a project and I am concerned about this issue in particular.
Here's my take on it, wooden nickels worth of opinion.
Apple changed some of the underlying frameworks and I think this caused the problems. It was also appearing in iOS. The fix seems to be to delete the problematic wifi/bluetooth set-up in System Preferences>Network and then re-establish/recreate them. It might be wise to shut down and restart before redoing the network. This seems to have fixed the issues for most people. YMMV so proceed with caution.
This should have been resolved if you do a clean install and not use Migration Assistant which would just copy over all files, settings.
With the latest updates for FCPX, Yosemite and iOS 8.3, I might violate my own procedures and update mid project, only after making a fresh clone on an external ssd in case of any unforeseen problems. Reports are starting to come in about stability improvements and faster processing. Working on a musical so waveforms are 1 issue improved.
Really want to try the new 3D titles. I learned Blender just for that reason.
Hope this helps, Greg
