Brake apart compound clips was created by Makki
I have to use a lot of compound clips in my project since I use a lot of layers sometimes up to 8 clips on top of each other. The problem is that option to brake apart items is always greayed out. The only solution is to replace the compound with the saved one and drag it to the timeline. Then the brake apart items is available. Is there something I am doing wrong. Jus to ad the compound clip can include still and effects but never audio.

Did you try the shortcut? Select the compound clip and the shift+command+G. It might be a good idea to include a screen grab of what is in the compound clip as well as the timeline you want to use it in.

In some case you can't break apart, for example if you have retimed your CC. Check what effects you have applied to the CC.
