I work with Final Cut Pro X library that shared over Thunderbolt bridge network by NFS. Sometimes Final Cut Pro X crashed, it's not a problem. Problem is, if I open Final Cut Pro again, appears an error: The library already opened on network Mac. But i know that is not true.
So, if i need to open library which crashed Final Cut, i need restart both Mac which connected over thunderbolt bridge.
Question is: Can i resolve that problem without restarting both Mac?
Thanks

Hi Victor,
(Edit: Sorry, I thought you where using a TB --> Ethernet adapter, misread the part about Thunderbolt Bridge))
Because Final Cut X is constantly writing to the library file it will keep your network connection busy. I would recommend you to copy the library to your local drive and opening it from there. When you are finished working on the project you can of course put the Library file back on the NFS host.
It's maybe not a solution to your problem but I hope this workflow will help you out.
Kind regards,
Martijn

Hi Victor, welcome to the forum.
As you will know Thunderbolt Bridge is very unstable as a networking solution at this time. In an IP over Thunderbolt setup, 2 Thunderbolt controllers in host mode are present on the Thunderbolt connection. This can cause negotiation conflicts the OS is completely unaware of, which can cause intermittent slowdowns and crashes.
When FCP X crashes due to such conflicts you will have to shut down and relaunch both the host and the client computer to reset the connection. This is not an ideal scenario.
That's why, If you want to work with FCP X Libraries over Thunderbolt Bridge, you will need to make copies of the Libraries on the host computer and work with the copies on the client computer. You can only work with centralized Libraries on NFS SAN or NAS systems that have dedicated data traffic management such as a switch.
