I figured it out!!! Audio and Dual Mono- How to

I finally had some success experimenting and rather than go into the craziness and or dumbness of yours truly here is how I got my audio resolved. and BTW thanks to everyone for your suggestions.

A two mic recording. Both going into mixer. Mic A panned hard left, Mic B panned hard right.

Import audio into FCPX, inspector says Stereo, changed that to Dual Mono (as was suggested). Drag audio to Project. Expand Audio Components (also suggested!) then reveals two channels, both adjustable.

Believe it or not, it took me a day and a half to get this!!!! This also works AFTER a seperate audio and video file have been synchronized.
