Having different versions of the same song is not that unusual. While mastering, different versions are produced for intended delivery; CD, radio, video versions, some engineers will slightly speed up song for a little pop, not to mention re-master, so maybe that is it, but if the dancer says it was the only version she has (used) then most likely not the problem. You'd think it would line up. Location reflections/reverb??? Weird.
Hmmm. There's a slight difference in timing if they are just converted from 24p to 25p or the other way around for broadcast purposes, isn't there?
Location reflections/reverb is not the issue as it worked perfectly on the other 4 acts filmed on the same day!
So it has to be either the file or the MP3 player. She was the only one using that particular (cheap) MP3 player. File does seem more plausible to me! She has sent me two different ones though and non of them worked. I told her to check if there's more
Yes, I will have to try something like that. One potential solution is to import both camera recording and the dancer's music file into LogicProX. Select the camera track to be the master track for dance/beat sync. Enable FlexTime and set the music file to conform to the camera file timing. Should line up, but you may need to adjust some beats in the track editor. Not that hard.
I'm not only trying to solve the issue though. Also want to figure out how it could happen in the first place.
