Hi,
I'm looking for a simple way to be able to add word by word as subtitles while a man is talking.
Is there a way to do this via key framing or similar?

The first wat that comes to mind is creating a seperate title clip for each word, but for standard dialog that would take forever!
Have you looked at any of the title/text presets? I think there is a typewriter one but not what you need. There is probably a way to do this in Motion too assuming you know how to use that.
Or see if there is some template that can add one word at a time. Someone here should be able to help out more than me.

Hi!
Yeah, one option is to do one and one text, but as you say, that takes forever.
You have one preset that is close, but it takes only characters and it's not possible to have full control over the timing.

Maybe word by word is quite a difficult task, but using a subtitle editor (mostly if you have a transcript) it could work...
1- create an ad hoc subtitle file with precise TC. ignore the minimum duration of "subs" warnings since it is just to generate titles
2- then using XTI from Andreas Kiel, [ www.spherico.com/filmtools/ ] you could precisely auto generate the corresponding titles...
3- add fx wanted
Theoretical but that is what i would try

What I've tried now is to use the Typewriter-preset in FCPX.
The speed was an issue, so after maxing it in the settings, I made it to a compound clip and slowed the whole thing down.
But If any have a great suggestion for word by word, I appreciate it!
