Sticky Playhead Syndrome

Nothing worse than trying to finely edit with a sticky playhead...Anyone else dealing with this or better still found a fix for it?

I should add that

1. a restart does not fix the issue expect occasionally and temporarily
2. the first time i tried to record this the problem went away in one of the sample projects.
3. I get the same results with Proxy, original and optimised media and with the Better Performance option
4. I am running the media from a Thunderbolt R6 Raid but get the same issue when moving the library and media to the internal SSD of my iMac (32GB Ram with a 2GB GFX card)
5. This video has been sent to Apple as feedback
6. The delay only happens in a project timeline, not in the browser.

What codec are the clips inside those compounds?

The codecs in that particular project are H.264 but transcoded to both Optimised and Proxy. The issue exists when using any of these formats.

It's a long shot but...
I notice you have the Inspector open and set to Extended.
There seems to be a pause while the info in the Inspector is updated to reflect
the clip you have selected to play. Because the compound clip does not need to change that info,
then the delay is eliminated. Does it persist with the inspector closed?
