I am working on web series. each episode is no longer than 25 minutes. I edited in Final Cut Pro X and when I export the XML and try to load it in Logic Pro X 10.1.1 nothing happens. It has multiple video and audio tracks. I made the video track single and still having the problem. Simple ones (1-2 audio track) work but not the 8-12 audio track xml. I tried to reset preferences but no solution.
can anyone help me?

Mac Pro 12core yosemite FCP X 10.1.4 and Logic Pro X 10.1.1

Are you running latest Yosemite version, too?

I've gone back and forth between the two with several projects lately without issues.

So, you create a new, empty LPX project. File > Import > Final Cut Pro XML. Then nothing happens? No error messages, nothing added to the project, no dialog boxes asking about sample rates, no "Creating overview" window, nothing?

That's very odd. I'd say try it, and let it sit for 10 full minutes, and pretend the "Creating Overview" window is just off screen or something weird like that.

Did you use "Preference Manager" to trash preference files for both apps?

Very odd problem.

Hello BenB

Yes it is the latest yosemite.

I did everything, empty LPX project and import xml and so on. if I send a basic xml like 2 track 3 min xml, it works properly, dialog boxes and stuff. but when I import the 25min multitrack XML, I see the importing box and the infamous ball a few seconds and then nothing happens. it won't even freeze it is just as if I just open an empty project.it is very odd.

I have waited full 10 min as you said. nada.

I trashed LPX preference file, and I will try with FCPX's. and then see what happens.

if nothing happens I will trash and download LPX again as soon as App store starts working.

thanks for the reply

How many audio roles are you using, and how many different audio clips are in the Timeline?

the first 2 min of the sequence, 12 tracks- mostly FX and music other than that it is mostly dialog and music (2 mono-1 stereo). but My panasonic camera records 4 mono 16 bit, even though I deleted (unchecked) 2 empty mono tracks on FCPX, I still can see it on LPX (4 mono). another strange thing.

I did give basic roles dialog,fx,music

Logic has to import from the original file, it doesn't configure tracks like FCPX does.

So, 12 "tracks"? There are no "tracks" in FCPX. 12 clips, or lanes of clips? How many clips total is what I was wondering about. In the Timeline index, at the top select Clips, at the bottom select Audio, and then up top on the right it will give you a total number of clips.

HHHmmm... nothing eh? That's really odd.

185 audio clips? Hhhmmmm...

Fill out the feedback pages for both apps. I'm going to run some tests tonight.
