Render within multicam Question was created by thefluentone
Hello all, I had a question regarding my process for multicam. I recently completed a wedding for a client over the weekend, and found I needed to use the Neat plugin for noise a lot more than I wanted to. The issue in my process was applying the plugin and color correction to a clip in a multicam clip, then adding the multicam clip to a timeline, whether compound or project.
I assmued that ay rendering for clips within a multicam would happen at the multicam level. For example if I add clips to a compound clip that need rendering, the render will happen once, and I can use the compound in multiple timelines without rendering a second or third time. With the multicam clip it seemed that every new usae of material resulted in a new render.
So when I placed the multipca in the project, and decided I dindt want X angle and switch an angle for a particular clip to the angle that requires rendering, now the time line is rendering again.
For light processing or color correction its not too bad, but Neat is a heavy processing render which can takes between 4-6 times the length of the source footage to render on my system.
Just to reiterate my process clip_1 in added to angle 1 in multicam, effect added to clip_1 in angle 1 of multicam, multi cam added to project, project cut to show angle 1 of multicam. Is there a better way to do this? Would it e desirable for others for effects in a multicam to e rendered?
Thanks for any input.
