Synchronized clip is all black in timeline

After synching video and audio, some of the new clip is black, but the are where the video is, it isn't. All good. But when I drop the clip in my timeline, the whole clip turns black. No video, only audio. What?

Are you sure you are selecting the right portion of the clip to add to the timeline?

Yep, I both tried the whole audio clip, and then just the part I need. Still black when dropping the clip in the timeline.

I suppose you did not actually drag the *audio* clip, did you?

What happens if you place the skimmer over the clip in the timeline and press Shift-F?

Drag? No, I synched video and audio. When dragging the synched clip in the timeline it's all black. And it's black when playing. Shift-F? Nothing happens...

I am having the same problem while running the latest version on BigSur. Did you fix this yet? 

what are the video/audio formats of the clips being synchronised and of the project/timeline? Not that I have this happening here but maybe we can spot something if you give more details?

I have no idea how to even find out the information you requested. Everything about this program is frustrating. The documentation is terrible, everything is hidden as icons or in menue within other menus, and there are no youtube videos that actually start from the beginning building actual projects. Epic apple fail, IMO.

Are there any decent tutiorials that actually help? Paid is ok. I just can't deal with this program.  Thanks man.

Start with izzyvideo, the best free introduction on YouTube. Excellent training is also available from Ripple Training. A ton of videos for specific features online. The manual is also available online, or as a free download in Books.
