pictures and text

I am not exactly sure how to explain this, but when I put a text box or picture in and drag the duration say to 1 minute. As I am listening to my audio and stop it, I drag the duration from both the picture and text back to where I stopped the audio. Final Cut used to almost do it for me when I started dragging and would kind of make a hard stop on the line where I stopped the audio. But lately, it hasn't been doing that and it is so time consuming to get the picture and text lined up exactly. Is there a place where I can ask Final Cut to continue doing this?

I'm not exactly clear on what it is you were doing to start with, and then you say it isn't doing that. What is it that's happening now that's different from what happened? What are seeing now?

Do you mean "Snapping"?
Use "N" to turn it on and off.
