Video Mixdown ?

Video Mixdown ? was created by toxotis70
I am coming from Avid composer and i want something like video mix down command.
If you don't know what it is.....
Lets say i have some clips with a lot of visual noise and i want first to de-noise them (with neat video).
Its very slow, so i want to apply first the plugin and then continue to edit and color correct them.
I tried compound clips and render them but its not the same, fcpx continues to re-render every frame and is very slow to edit , almost impossible.
Is there any way to render internally those clips and not to have to share them and re-importing them.
I have a lot of clips and its not easy to do this for every clip.

No there isn't. Video mixdown was put into AVID because of the horrendous render times that would occur back in the nineties.
Today it really isn't needed. (Unless you're using it to work around Avid's terrible terrible multicam)
So in FCP X you either export and re-import (which is the same as a video mixdown) or put the section into a compound clip.

compound clip isnt working with neat video as i said.
Even if i render the compound clip and then put it in another sequence for color correction, FCPX keeps re-render it and is VERY slow.
For some reason it doesnt keep the render portion ....
So, the only solution is to export and re-import.... thanks.

Sorry to hear that. When I use Neat Video I get the settings right then switch it off until it's time to output.
At least FCP X exports about 10 times faster than AVID so hopefully you'll still be in front.

Neat is notorious for long renders. I'd turn off the background rendering, too. Manually render only what you need to. And it isn't FCPX, it is the specific plugins. Some take forever, and eat up performance. Some don't need rendering for playback, even if a render bar shows up, and render super fast. Depends on the plunging you're using.
