Can't open Noise Gate / EQ / ... panel on iMac

This is a BUG report that affects my Late 2012 27-inch iMac, 3.4Ghz i7, 24 GB 1600Mz DDR3. After I add a Noise Gate then go to the Audio panel I can't open the Noise Gate panel to adjust it! No matter what I do it will not open. When I click on the mixer icon nothing opens. No panel for adjustments are shown. This doesn't happen on my late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina. I have reset the preferences many times. I can't work on any project that needs audio work in FCPX 10.1.4. This is a big pain in the Apple!

Yes, I have reset the preferences many times and I still can't open the Noise Gate or EQ to make adjustments. This is a sick bug. Does anyone have any idea how I can get to the adjustments? Why would this ONLY affect my iMac?

Could be, and this is extremely rare, that they are opening, but off screen. Try increasing the resolution of your monitor, and see if they show up. Changing resolution will cause floating windows to change where in the screen they sit.

After trashing the preferences again and then reseting the iMac....all is well again. This is one of the strangest thing I've seen happening with FCPX!
