Having this issue- Trying to export DVD from FCX as usual &...
The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)

I had the same problem a few months back & it somehow corrected itself, but I have no idea how it happened. Exporting any other format seems to be successful, but exporting a DVD- to disc, or disk image to hard drive results in the error.

Why don't you export a master file first and convert that to DVD using another software? You will at least get a master file instead of getting nothing once it fails for wired reasons. And converting or burning DVD in user-friendly softwares such as iDVD can be enjoyable too.

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I did burn the Master File and exported it to DVD with Compressor to get it out the door the other day. What I'm looking for here is the root cause of this issue and how to fix it. I shouldn't have to use work-arounds. Final Cut X should perform correctly and burn the disc straight from the Share button. I'm going nuts trying to figure out what the fix may be. Preferences have been trashed, FCPX re-installed, etc... I can't figure out why Compressor 4.1.3 can burn a disc, but FCPX will not. But any other export method other than DVD, to disc or hard drive, seems to work without issue.

Both Compressor and FCP X have multiple embedded apps – one of which is Create Disk. That app is used to author DVDs and Blu Ray disks. One of the more common complaints reported over at the Apple boards is for disk creation failures after the audio and video files have been successfully encoded. The most recent FCP X updates seem to have improved things, but it seems the handoff from the compression process to Create Disk is not always done correctly. (Not sure of the reasons.) It also seems that it's more reliable in Compressor than in FCP X.

So I agree that iDVD and Compressor are good solutions… I also agree that you shouldn't need a workaround.

So it seems this issue is just on this Project, and at least one other from November. I did a new Event, New Project for different media today, and had zero issues. Went back to my problem child, and still getting the same error as before. I already deleted render files, created a new Event-Project, etc for the problem project & same problem. And as before I can export any which way & it works- except to Share DVD-hard drive or disc, and it also fails when I tried Sharing directly to Compressor instead of making a Master File 1st. Can anyone think of why, if it's the media that's bad, would it work for everything except a Share to DVD from FCPX?
