censor bars in fcpx without external program was created by cheesus2000
hi guys!
i make a video (skateboardvideo) where we do illegal stuff.
i want to put censor bars over someones face. to do it in a kind of "artistically" way i DONT want to hide the face of the person behind the classic black censor bar - i thought of a cartoon-face or so.
how do i do that?
there are 2 steps, that are necessary. first i get an image - is it possible to prepare/cut the image (f.e. the contours of mickey mouse) INSIDE fcpx?
the other question is concerning getting the image in my movie: i know how to handle this. but is it also possible to put it in my project frame per frame? the reason is: the camera is moving slightly. i want to ensure, that the image is always exactly hiding the face.
thank you!
greetz,
Pete

Three ways you can do this:
1. The hard way.
Find an image with a comic face, cut out the background in Photoshop or Pixelmator and save the face as a PNG file with transparency. Then import that PNG file in FCP X and animate it manually (frame by frame) over the face you want to censor.
2. The easy way.
Purchase Slice/X with Mocha: www.coremelt.com/products/slicex-powered-by-mocha.html
Import the image in FCP X, mask the comic face out with the SliceX bezier tool and animate it automatically over the face you want to censor using the tracker.
3. The alternative way.
If you have Motion 5 you can do the same thing as with Slice/X: import the clip with the face you want to censor in Motion 5, import the image with the comic face, cut out the comic face with the Bezier Mask tool and use Motion's tracker to animate the comic face over the face you want to censor.
