Sound issue - noise in timeline

Sound issue - noise in timeline was created by iKitty2
There is a noise on my time line on a dialog clip but when I play it in the browser the sound is not there.
I have also listened to this dialog clip in solo and the noise is not there... I have 2 other music tracks and have listened to these in the solo mode but the noise is not there.
But when I play 'all' - the noise appears agIan. I cannot see any other clips on the timeline that would have this noise.
I have been editing this piece for a while now and the noise was never there before. Then when I uploaded it to youtube for client to review the noise appeared.
After this noise appeared I tried replacing the clip from the browser but the noise is still there - it's almost as if there is a invisible clip on my timeline that I cannot see to delete.
Please can you help.

Create a new Project and paste the contents of the problematic Project onto the timeline of the new one. Do you still hear the noise?

This sounds kind corrupt render files (pun intended)
. Have you tried removing all rendered files (file menu)?
If you are willing, dupe the library first before doing this and provide feedback to fhe final cut team regarding this (final cut menu). This might me something they would like an example of.

On a partially related note:
I sometimes get tiny clicks at the very end of audio only clips when I've added fades using the fade handles.
Typically it be fine until I change the fade type and try a s-curve or -3 fade, once the click is there I can't get rid of it.
Doesn't matter what kind of media it is, or whether it matches the Project settings.
I can usually fix the problem by adding the media back to the timeline again and pasting the levels in again, or by adding a one subframe long keyframed fade at the end, but those are just workarounds...

I have tried Ronny's idea first - to copy and paste in new project file - but this did not work.
Then I tried tpayton's idea - deleted rendered files - noise still there.
Duncan - the sound is not an over lap from a fade, the noise happens about 1 sec before straight normal cut. The weird thing is the when I solo the sound track to any of the 3 tracks I have - there is no sound - it is only when I play all tracks in the time line that the noise is heard.
It is like its there but cannot be seen in time line.
Attached is the snapshot of the time line and where the player head is where the sound happens - Curious

Thanks I would love that - don't know what a PM is but I didn't receive anything else from you in my mail - I only have another 30 min before I have to go out - Perhaps we can do this next Wednesday... I'll have to take my chances

Resolved Issue - Well it's a bit embarrassing bc I thought I did check if there was a hidden overlap in sound track from dissolve - but when I re-checked yesterday I found the overlap where the noise was on track 2 .

Glad the issue is resolved. And don't worry, we all make mistakes. If not, this forum would not exist
