How to add a border to a green screen subject?
For example, I would like there to be a 10 pixel border of white around the edge of my subject that moves with my subject.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

It needs to act after the keyer in the plugin process.
As it isn't a built in effect with FCPX you could double up your foreground elements adjust the fills etc and play around with matte tools to grow the foreground fill.
However a slightly noisy key edge will start to 'sing' quite noticeably when you push the size of the outline too far.
YYMV.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. A nice "edge" effect.
I used to have this filter in FCP 7 as part of the GenArts Sapphire Effects Package, but it's not available for FCP X.
I tried duplicating the keyed layer, placing it below, expanding it, and coloring it, but it doesn't work/look right.
Oh well, maybe someone will come out with a filter or maybe it can be done in motion.
Does anyone know if motion has this sort of an edge effect?

That works pretty well - I just wish the edge was crisper and it's a bit soft - but it is definitely good enough.
Thanks again,
Chris

That's cool. Do you think I could set this up as a custom effect (from motion) and then just apply to clips?

I made it an effect and it works great. Thanks again for the suggestion.
