Storage Space Problem was created by cavideopro
So once I have a completed project, I like to delete to transcoded and render files and save the project on a separate external drive. This way I can save space and still access the original media if I ever need to. However sometimes the file will still show the original storage space (i.e. 2.1 TB) even though I have deleted all transcoded media. When I go into the project and get info on folders there is only 145GB of data. Is this a FCP issue or a Mac System issue? Is there a different/better way to do this?

How are you deleting the generated media? In Finder or with FCP X media management?

Hate to sound like a commercial, but IMO the best way is using Final Cut Library Manager:

Re why the files don't reflect the smaller size after deleting transcoded media, I don't know.
