Blackmagic Decklink Audio Output

Hi

Is there any way to output audio through Decklink XLR outs? Video is fine but I cannot get analog audio outputs. PremirePro works fine though :dry: .

You have to select Black Magic audio as your output in System Prefs/Sound. You can't set it just for FCPX. You can switch easily to Black Magic Audio if you hold Option and select the sound icon on OSX audio icon the upper right toolbar.

Yep, something I've requested from Apple about FCPX for a long time. Being able to assign audio output independently of the app. Logic has done it for as long as Apple has had it. I use different monitors for composing and editing, than I do for everyday use, and a third set for mastering audio. Would be great to set this in the FCPX preferences.

I agree, this is annoying. And used to work in FCP7. At least we don't have a thousand output choices like the old days, though.

One thing I've noticed is that unless you enable Black Magic Audio out, lip synch will be off on the grading monitor compared to the GUI monitor.

At some point, Apple will learn to keep the good things. :sick:

It's not about keeping good things, it is about writing a whole new app from the ground up, and working features into it "properly". That takes a lot of time to do.
