How to keep external drives spinning 24/7 in Yosemite?

So up until a few days ago I have always migrated and installed a new OS on top of my existing OS. I have done this since, oh, Mac OS 6 or so. Most everything worked fine. But I decided to do a clean install because a few things were a little quirky. It was a huge pain but at least now I'll never have to do it again until Mac OS XII 30.31 (codename TurdBottom). The main benefit is that I freed up a ton of space. Functionality of apps seems the same except FCPX which now sees MXF properly.

Anyway all is up and running for the most part. But my external hard drives keep going to sleep which is 100% unacceptable. I tried an app called Keep Drives Spinning but that doesn't do anything at all. Other users are having the same issues with it and Yosemite and it doesn't look like it'll ever be updated. Is there a Terminal script or something I can apply to each and every one of my drives to keep them awake always? I do not understand why the System Preference "Energy Saver" does not obey my command to not puts disks to sleep. Big ol' flaw in the OS.

Energy Saver doesn't control external drives. Try Disksomnia from Digital Heaven.

Cool, thanks. If this doesn't work you owe me $9.99 plus tax!

I use DiskSomnia on several machines, it works great. Get it from the Mac App Store:
