30 minute movie, no third party stuff, footage from the Canon HF-S10. 1080i HD 25i Stereo. iMac late 2009, Maverics 8gb.

FCPX keeps rendering in the Background Tasks display. There's nothing to render. Any idea what's wrong?

Switch off background rendering. What version are you using?

Tom, when I switch off BR it stops. But immediately after activating BR, without changing anything on the timeline, BR starts running and keeps running.

FCPX version 10.1.4

Leave background rendering off. Only render when you have to render what you need to render. It's seldom worth the processor cycles to render. This bug strikes some users; I don't know what triggers it.

I have a similar problem to Navigator's. I'm running FCP 10.1.3 on Yosemite. The Background Task seems to cycling through Rendering (0-100% over and over and over). I can PAUSE it and the rendering indicator goes to 100%.

As soon as I make a change to my movie (88 minutes long and not yet with music), the background indicator starts cycling through rendering again.

it has only started recently (two weeks) but I've had this movie in the timeline for a month or more. (I'm a slow editor) Is this a bug? Is there a fix?

I tried making the Everybody Read/Write change but that had no effect.

Grateful for any advice.

Changing permissions won't effect Background Rendering like that. Do you have it turned OFF in the preferences?

BenB Thank you. I'll have a look at that when I fire it up tomorrow.
