The *trailer* was cut on X? Who cut it?

Rumor has it that the whole film was cut on FCPX.

I remember when they where shooting here in New Orleans. I have some friends who worked on that production. Never new then it may be an FCPX cut feature.

Not a rumor, it was. But, (and maybe I 'm mis-reading it) Peters post implies the trailer was cut in X. I'm not sure that's true, but would be happy to be pleasantly surprised. :-)

Also, Merry Christmas to all !!!

Jan Kovac edited this movie on FCPX with a team of five, Michael Matzdorff (Fight Club, Meet Joe Black, Analyze This) was the first assistant editor. He has written a book about their workflow, but I guess he cannot publish it until the movie gets released.

It would be good if more entire movies would be cut on FCPX. No matter how much you like it, you have to admit that way too many people don't take it very seriously. This will help. As for the trailer itself, any NLE could cut that. FCPX needs movies on its resume but trailers wouldn't hurt. I just don't want FCPX to be a trailer darling and nothing else.

The movie is being released February 26th. Perhaps we'll see Michaels book around then. Also hoping we see a big IN ACTION story about it. Usually those are accompanied by updates to the software. Not saying an update will come on or around the movie's release date, but unless PR changes it's tact, we may not see an IN ACTION story until the software is updated again.
