Files deleted after update to 10.1.7 - need help recovering them

Hi guys -

My sister has been working on a project on final cut pro for a while, and unfortunately forgot to back up the file when it she had it updated today. Do any of you know if it is possible to retrieve this file somehow? She's looked in backups, but there's nothing there.

- She updated from what version to what version? 10.1.7 does not exist.
- What file is missing? Is it the Project (timeline)?

Thanks for your reply - as you can see I am not too proficient in this software!

We were a bit desperate last night when I posted this, but my sister ended up redoing the project, after finding no help from the IT department at her school, who had originally updated the program. So for now it doesn't look like she'll need to find the original project.
