How do I cut and past to pointer in fcpx? was created by dfphoto
Hi group, I am trying to learn how to cut/edit faster, one item I don't understand is how to place the head at a point and either drop a new clip in from the browser or copy/cut/paste a clip that is already on the timeline to a new spot.
I know this is possible but I don't know how can anyone share this basic but vital tip with me?
Thank you so much!!!!
On the flip side if you have a link to a utube video or a good tutorial to buy or view for free I'd appreciate it.

demoes how to edit without touching the mouse/trackpad
plus, the built-in help of FCPX lists all short-cuts:
help.apple.com/finalcutpro/mac/10.1/?lang=en#ver90ba5929
My favorites are:
plus move playhead with J/K/L combos... more precice, much faster than via mouse/trackpad

My favorites are:
- E applies clip to End of timeline
- W inserts (W looks like a funnel... sort of... ) clip at given playhead position
- Q add as connected ("qnnected")clip on secondary
- alt-bracket left/right shortens clip to/from given playhead position
- alt-v pastes copied (cmd-c) clip on secondary
plus move playhead with J/K/L combos... more precice, much faster than via mouse/trackpad
