Relink Custom Titles on new Machine was created by finalbug.net
Hi, hi
Maybe some one can help me with this. I have an old project on a new machine.
On the old machine I created titles using a custom title.
TKY Subtiler Effect in the appropriate folder
i.e. User/Movies/Motion Templates/Titles folder
www.fcp.co/forum/9-free-fcpx-plugins-and...-tky-subtitle-banner
Now I am on the new machine and inside FCPX
and have the title installed where it should be
i.e. User/Movies/Motion Templates/Titles folder
and I can even see the TKY Subtiler Effect showing up in the Text Browser!
Thing is that my titles in the timeline are still offline. Sure I can manually copy and paste things back together but I am wondering if there is a way to do this all in one foul swoop!!!
Simply replacing the TKY Subtiler Effect via drag and drop from the Title Browser into the Timeline and doing a replace edit does not work either as this way I lose my text and formatting!!!
Seems similar tho this here:
www.fcp.co/forum/4-final-cut-pro-x-fcpx/...cpx-generators#52704
But I still do not get it!
Any thought would be greatly appreciated
best
Paul

How did you create the install path?
User/Movies/Motion Templates/Titles
is the wrong one. Must be:
~/Movies/Motion Templates.localized/Titles.localized

Most people don't see the ".localized" in the Finder windows. I don't. But yes, FCPX has to create that folder structure, not the end user.
But you may also want to open that template in Motion, update it to the latest Motion version. I've had that fix a couple of "older" templates before.

Hi Guys
Just wanted to say thanks. I can not get to this project to confirm or deny if the above is true as the drive in question is somewhere else at present. Pretty sure that you both know what you are talking about :woohoo: To be continued….
thanks
