2- What is the Opacity set to in the Inspector > Video > Compositing?
Player Background, set to Black.
For Compositing, make sure Opacity is 100% and Blend Mode is Normal.

I've been importing the same way for a year and it was no issue. This issue just popped up out of no where one day. The specs of the media are 1920X1080 , 29,97fps, codec: h.264 Linear pcm it was Imported from a camera straight into fcpx

Tom Wolsky wrote: The problem is appearing in the QT player. Do you still have the canera card or archive? Open the file from there into the QT player. Try opening the file directly in other players, Movist, VLC. What camera is this? Can you make a new test recording and check that?
I tried importing and opening in iMovie and there was no problem the clips were normal. They were also normal when opened with FCPX closed in Quicktime. I tried from two cameras a Canon t2i and a Nikon D7000 and it does the same thing. Those were both my tests when trying to solve myself.

I saw an old post from Final Cut 7 with the same problem and they said it had something to do with a resolution or pixel setting. Does that ring a bell ? I don't know how that would translate to fcpxTom Wolsky wrote: What else have you done? Anything else we should know? Any chance you can post one of the original files somewhere, not the imported file, the file from the camera. There should be no conversion going on.
