Hi guys,

last night i have been filming in two formats.
The first was on a Sony SxS-1 card and that worked great.

The second one was filmed on a SD card (FAT) with the Sony MEAD-SD02 converter.
Dimensions: 1920*1080
Codecs: MPEG-4 Video | Linear PCM

In VLC player i can watch the video but Quickplayer does not accept it. And when i import the files from my HDD to FCPX i only see green screen in the thumb and also on the timeline.

I've had a similar issue some time ago. It was due to a little bug. The solution was:
* erase your files from FCPX
* hit the Import button again and WAIT that all thumnails appear in the import window (can take a bit of time)
* Import

Maybe that would work for you ?

The MEAD is an adaptor that allows to put consumer SD cards in cameras with SXS slots. Consumer cards can be very slow. As Manoucho says the first thing you should do is try to re-import and let the import finish completely, and this can take a long time.

If this is not the cause of your issue it is possible that the file structure on the SD card or the codec inside the MP4 container are not properly recognized by FCP X.

Do you have the PDZK-LT2 XDCAM Import Plugin for FCP X installed? If not, download it from here, restart your computer after having installed the plugin, and try importing again:

If nothing else helps you can download the old Sony Content Browser that should allow you to convert the clips on your SD card to ProRes:
