Hi,

FCP X just crashed on me and 2 hours of fiddly work are gone, is there any way to recover the lost work?

If I go to File/Open Library/ From Back up is greyed out.

Check and see if there's a backup in wherever you're saving backups.

where can I see where I save back up to? noting under preferences? bought Pro versioner now

The default location is in Movies/Final Cut Backups. You set the backups location in library properties. Each library can have a different backup location.
