Final Cut Pro Project to DVD
I'll tell you what I did originally which was wrong....
On Final Cut Pro I clicked on 'share' then 'master file' etc and it saved the video as a .mov file to my desktop. I then burnt this to my blank DVD. Then playing the project through the DVD, it either goes quite jolty and slow, OR it doesn't open at all saying the 'file type is incorrect' or some sort.
I don't know if this makes a difference but I only have the Final Cut Pro Trial version as I'm a pretty poor student and I don't have 'Compressor' and nor can I afford to pay £30 odd for it (I'm saying this as a lot of tutorials are mentioning it).
I'm pretty sure it's really easy what I need to do, but I just have no idea, so if anyone can help me, it'd be really appreciated.

or
Do you want a video DVD you can put into a DVD set-top player and play on a TV?

Otherwise from the Share menu choose Master file then under Settings choose Computer as the Format type.
You will then get a file playable on pretty much anything.

Is this for projection to a screen? I've been doing that for two decades now. QT on your Mac, in QT player, "Full Screen", works just fine.

This could be why then? As before I had it as 'video and audio'. Do you think it will work that way then without any joltiness? Just daren't waste another disc that's all.
Thanks for your replies

BenB wrote: OK, DVD is super slow, which is why video DVD's are super highly compressed. You want to copy it to a DVD, flash drive, hard drive, something to copy to the Mac that will be playing it. Do NOT play it live off of a DVD. That just sucks.

I totally agree, but as part of our submission it must be on a DVD (I don't know but memory sticks aren't allowed anymore). It's basically being played on my lecturers macbook for him to view and mark.

Or your lecturer will have to coy the file from the DVD to his hard drive and play from there.
Youtube is the easiest solution.

Managed to put it on YouTube as a fall back option, but after changing it to the format you suggested, it works!
Thanks so much, seriously. Life saver.
