Hi , how can I export individual clips of a project into one folder ?

I mean ....my project is made by 10 clips which I edited and color correct ,but now I'd like to export them with just one click , but I'd like those to be exported in a quick time format separately and not as a movie .

Is it possible in FCPX ? Thanks for the answer

You would have to Range Select each of the 10 clips & export one by one. I don't believe FCPX has a one click option for that type of export. The good news is that after you export one, you can go on to the next clip because it will Export in the Background.

You need this:

See the article about it here on the main page...

Yeah , I 've found out about it last night , I downloaded the free version , but I guess it only helps you in case want export clips into After Effects , it doesn't export clips the way I wanted ....

This is the workflow I 've workin on : I shoot clips , about 30 or so of the main subjet but from different angle and so on , those are 10 seconds clips , so what I want is have it all together in the same project only because I want edit it a little and color correct it a little in the same way using the same preset , but then , I wanna be able to export those clips in quicktime because those will be uploaded online later .....so Clip Exporter I thing is figured if you wanna export your clip into a third part software for further editing or mounting....that NOT what I want to do ....

and in my case isn't really needed open lots of project ....I'm not working on a project , I'm only editing and coloring few little clips ... maybe I should look for another software to do that ?

Well, in that case, follow cinemaloha's advice, it goes pretty quickly. Make the share (export) setting you want to use the default. To do this, go to the the sharing pane in FCP Prefs and right click the setting you want. Then just hit R (for the range tool), click a clip, CMD-E to export, hit Enter twice (you'll need to choose where you want to save the first time only). So.. select clip, CMD-E, Enter, Enter... repeat. Could probably get all 30 going in a minute or 2.

If you only need to trim clips and color correct you can do that in the browser. Mark the selection you want, then right-click on the clip and use open in timeline. Select the video and make the color correction. You can then export sequentially from FCP or use Clip Exporter.

ClipExporter do this job. Make your edit and color correction in a project, export XML, import this XML in ClipExporter choose QuickTime and footages are exported individually in a folder.

Hi , I've just tryed , the woorkflow seems to be right , nothing difficoult really , but I got this message :

001 00072: Unable to create Quicktime movie. Error reading source file: /Users/albylizhard/Movies/Final Cut Pro Backups.localized/bulldog.fcpbundle/camino/Original Media/00072.mts

So i took the videos with a Sony camera , it creates a .mts video file extension , which is Sony native extension for AVCHD high quality video files .
The file position where Clip Exporter is looking too is the right one ...so it might be that CE doesn t support those .mts files ?

I'd love to work with CE , just one click and it's done , otherwise I will do the process in FCPX and export clip by clip

Something strange.
I've made the test with avchd footage of my Sony VG900 and it works well.
When i import my footage in FCPX, the original media are rewrapped in .mov container so i never see a .mts media in my original media folder. It's not the same thing for you ?
One other thing I don't understand why it's going to search the original media in the final cut Pro backup ?
Try to build from scratch a new library with external media in a media folder , make a project and an xml export to see if you have the same results.

I've tryed with another project and it works ....but the extension of the clips in there is .mov , so can't really tell if before was a problem of the .mts extention .

What I notice though is that even if now Clip Export worked with another project , the exported clip are only the original and not the edited one .....I mean , it just export the original clipwithout any of the correction I've made in FCPX

So like this is not the process I'm looking for .....Am I doing something wrong again ? :silly: :silly:

I think you're right and so it's not the tool you need. Do this with DaVinci Resolve. Light version is free. You import XML in resolve, do your color correction and deliver in a render folder the graded clips. It's fast but you have just to learn Resolve a little (not so difficult that it seem to be).

Hi, I´m the developer of ClipExporter. As you already found out, ClipExporter exports only a trimmed version of your source media file. It is not able to render effects, color corrections or any other modifications that have been applied to a clip in FCPX. ClipExporter is meant to export your clips as "raw" as possible.

Currently you have three options:
1.) The tedious - select a clip in your timeline, hit X and export a QT file. Repeat this task for each clip.
2.) The less tedious - Export your whole timeline as mov. Reimport into your project and place it above your timeline. Jump from clip to clip using up/down arrows and cut (cmd+b) the reimported big video file. Now you have multiple clips from your reimported file. Assign roles to those clips. Open ClipExporter and export the clips with the role assigned. Done.
3.) Use DaVinci Resolve.

Hope that helps.
Thomas
