Hi Everybody,
I recently changed to FCPX. I imported MTS files to edit. But there is a clicking sometimes when somebody is speaking. The strange thing is that is no such clicks when transcoding with Streamclip or other transcode programs. The MTS file has A52 Audio aka ac3 Codec with 48000Hz, and 256Kb/s. When Transcoding with FCPX we have PCMS16 LE sowt, also 48000Hz and 16bits. Transcoding with another program it's the same but 24kb/s.
There is no noise in the original MTS file. So, what is going wrong...?

The problem is really a heavily compressed video format in a horrible framework with a very compressed audio codec.
That's strange, Streamclip doesn't normally open .mts files. Perhaps you need to give more specs on the media and how you got Streamclip to transcode it.
Normally .mts are camera files that should always be ingested from the camera recording structure, not the stripped out .mts files.

Thankyou Tom for your quick Answer!
Sorry, it was not Streamclip, I transcoded the other clip with Clipwrap.
The original clips were used from a direct copy of a SD card.
I think there should be no problem for that...although I will consider your answer and try different methods.
Thanks a lot.

ClipWrap is the best at this.
What software and OS version are you using?
Really best to import from card or archive.
