Hello:
What is the best way to emulate the gang feature in fcpx?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Juan, welcome to the forum.

There is no gang feature in FCP X (yet). Use FCP X feedback to request this feature. I'm sure it's high on the priority list.

There is a workaround to emulate ganging, but I find it quiet convoluted:

There is a less convoluted way I was messing with, similar but kinda easier... Basically I just took what would be my "source' cut, made it into a multiclip, and stuck the it below the primary and all the audio in the project timeline. I used an exported quicktime, but you could do it with a project you make into a compound clip too. Open the angle viewer (set to 2 angles..wish there was an option for 1!) Adjusted the multi to a sync point, and off you go. Your "source" plays in sync, and can be compared to, your project. Other than the fact that the Angle viewer never really lines up with the project viewer, it worked really well.

Can't sleep? Try this: fcpxpert.net ;-)
