Hi I am on 10.1.3 on osx 10.9.5 and I'm seeing some issues with canon 70d and 5dmk3 import issues. I shoot all I and I'm trying create proxy for this project and I have shot over 5 days and now am seeing a lot of issues where some files are not being imported with proxies and I cannot figure out what is going on.

I've tried deleting the files and re-importing and sometimes that works but not always. Anyone with any ideas?

When you need to import a lot of clips it is IMO better not to convert to proxy media during the import process.

First import the clips and make sure all clips have been imported properly (make sure there is no camera icon on the top left corner of any imported clips).

Then select the clips in the Clip Browser, R-click the selection and choose Transcode Media > Create Proxy media. Wait until all proxy media have been created, then set your Viewer > Media to Proxy and check if all your clips show up properly in the Clip Browser.

Ronny thank you, I'll give that a try... wonder why one needs to do it that way.

You don't need to do it it his way. But I have had some posts about similar problems when importing large numbers of clips, and most of the issues were solved by letting FCP X import first and then do the transcoding afterwords. This does not take any longer than doing the conversion while importing. But it can avoid problems like the one you are seeing. Hope it works for you.
