Hi guys,

I use the Instant Replay retime tool a fair bit in my editing since most of my videos are hockey highlights from a stationary GoPro camera.

Lately I've been manually applying a rewind on the footage before the replay in slo-mo shows (using the built-in Instant Replay function).

you can see an example I've done here:

Right now I have to manually setup the rewind ahead of the Instant Replay.

What I'm wondering is if it's possible in either FCPX or Motion5 to take the idea of the canned Instant Replay function in FCPX and add on to it to have the Rewind happen on the clip you want to Replay, if you know what I mean. That way I can apply this "Instant Replay ver2" to any clip and it will show it full speed, rewind it, and show it in the Instant Replay speed.

I'm relatively new to both FCPX and Motion 5 but if I'm pointed in the right direction I'm sure I can figure it out.

Thanks for the help,

Jason

There actually is a rewind built into Instant Replay except it's only like one frame long. If you zoom into the split at the instant replay point you can drag out the replay frame and make it as quick or as slow as you want.

Tom. That is a great tip. It was hidden right there in front of me all this time. Thanks so much.
