Freeze frame does not work anymore !!! 10.1.3

Hi there,
I have been using FCPX since day 1 and there is one function that worked without any issue since it was implemented : The freeze frame (option F). But suddenly it stopped working !!!! I don't know how... either using the menu or the shortcut. it won't simply work. Instead it will shorten my clip. for some reason it is still working when trying to create a freeze frame from the event library. Has anyone been experiencing the same issue ? is there a fix or a workaround ?

A workaround would be to use a Hold Frame. Press Shift+H
It's the retiming version of a freeze frame.

Thx cool. that was one of m options for the moment I am doing a match frame ( ALT F ) then making a freeze frame in the even library which adds me a connected freezed frame. But I really wonder why this started happening.

Start by trashing your preferences. There may be something in the configuration of the project, but I can't imagine what it would be. As you say this is something that just always works.

Reseting preferences does not work, but thx by the way because I discovered how to reset prefs in fcp 10.1.3 holding the command + option key while starting. this is a much convenient shortcut. Does not solve my issue though.
